Testing Notifications

Once you've added a channel, you can send a test notification at any time directly from the dashboard. This is a great way to make sure everything is working before going live, checking that the bot has the right permissions, your message looks the way you want, your embed is styled correctly, and so on.

How to Send a Test Notification#

On the dashboard, find the channel you want to test and click the "Test Notification" button.

That's it! NotifyMe will grab the most recent video or stream data from that channel and send a notification to your configured Discord channel, exactly as it would in a real notification.

What Gets Sent?#

The test notification uses the last available video or livestream from the channel.
The message, embed, tags, and role pings will all behave exactly as they would in production, so what you see is what you'll get.
💡 This is a great time to double-check your Message Tags are resolving correctly and your layout looks the way you intended.

If Something Goes Wrong#

If the notification fails to send, you'll see a red error box on the website explaining what went wrong.

The most common cause is missing bot permissions. Make sure NotifyMe has the necessary permissions in the destination Discord channel, you can check the Permissions Guide for a full breakdown of what's needed.
